[WATER PUMP] What's the best bang for the buck?
Hey guys,
In another thread I determined that my water pump is gone. So I checked some prices, and they are pretty much the same, except for the fancy dancy stuff. For the same 65-70 bux I can get a Delco, Weiand, Stewart, Milodon, Tuff Stuff.... What is the best bang for the buck??? I want to install this thing and forget it exists, at least for the next 28 years or so. I also don't want any headache with alternator brace, pulley, fan, and stuff like that, so it must be a direct replacement. Any suggestions? So far I only got one vote for the Stewart on the other thread...
Thanks in advance!

i vote for the Weiand water pump. I bought one and had it installed on the ZZ3 before it was put in my 68. That was about 6 years ago and it was problem-free right up to the day the car was sold. Weiand uses a heavy duty bearing and high-quality parts in their pumps. I bought mine from PAW.

I purchased a new (not rebuilt) water pump from AutoZone for $40. It has absolutely no sex appeal but it works.

Pedro....look at a recent post similar to yours....30 responses. That's why the archives are there. Its good practice to search them prior to posting a topic that may have already been discussed at great length.

Alright, guys! Based on the recommendations on the other thread (Thanks, Mark!), I ordered a Stewart Stage 1 pump. I guess I can start removing the old pump and cleaning up the front of the engine... I'm very slow, and this kind of stuff usually takes me forever...
Thanks!!!
