The vacuum and some of the electrical wiring for the wipers and wiper door were stripped out of my 68 before I got it. The wiper door will only operate with the override switch now. The good news is that all the solenoids, switches, and relay valves are still there. So I'm trying to hook it up as per original, but my useless Haynes manual doesn't show the electrical or vacuum hookups for a wiper door.
I need to know where the vacuum solenoid (under the tach) should be wired into the wiper switch control.
I also need to know where the firewall mounted wiper door switch (pevents wiper activation until door has completely opened) should be wired in.
A diagram would be great. Thanks.

You need an AIM. Click on ZIP Products and order one for your model year. Get the three ring binder to go with it. The AIM has illustrations of the vac hose routing, okay-to-close switch, wiper switch, overrides, etc. Everything you're looking for.

Thanks, I'm still waiting on my ZIP catalog. I was just hoping it was online somewhere, or someone with the diagram could describe it.

HAVING BEEN THERE ON MY 68, THE WIRING OF THE 68 WIPER MOTOR CIRCUIT IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT THAN THE 69 AND LATER, THE AIM DOES HAVE A WIRING DIAGRAM, BUT YOU WILL FIND IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO FOLLOW. I EVEN ORDERED THE LECTRIC LIMITED POSTER, AND IT IS HARD TO FOLLOW, AND DOES A GOOD JOB OF SHOWING WHAT COLOR WIRE GOES WHERE, BUT HERE IS WHERE YOU RUN INTO A PROBLEM: IF BUBBA HAS BEEN THERE, AND WIRES HAVE EITHER BEEN REMOVED, OR SPLICED WITH DIFFERENT COLOR WIRES, YOULL NEVER BE ABLE TO TRACE WHICH WIRE IS WHAT. ESPECIALLY WHEN DEALING WITH THE DELAY, SELENOID, WIPER DOOR.

ITS NOT IMPOSSIBLE, BUT IT IS DIFFICULT

I WIRED MINE SO AT LEAST THE WIPER DOOR OPENS WITH THE OVERIDE, AND THEN I USE THE WIPER SWICTH TO TURN ON THE MOTOR, AND VICE VERSA TO TURN OFF. THATS ALL I COULD DO BECAUSE THE WIRING WAS SO HAPHAZARD FROM PREVIOUS OWNERS

Just a followup on wiper door problems. All the info I got really helped. I did discover that the 68 had no wiper door vacuum safety valve (interlock), not to be confused with the wiper door switch. I'm going to try to add one.
Any of you '68 guys ever had a problem with the door closing with the wipers still up without this valve? I figure that's why they added it in '69.
I'm also trying to convert to the later '71 wiper door vacuum canister. Its less than 1/2 the price of the '68. Bought the can, bracket and adjusting nut.
Also discovered that the vacuum tank was removed on this car! It's not behind the left wheel well, not under the radiator either. Everything still works with the engine running, so I probably won't worry about it.
As for the wiring, who came up with the idea of the switches providing the ground to activate the wipers, etc.?
