Help with fuel pump questions
I am putting AFR heads on my already cammed and sprayed car. It should be right around 550 RWHP but I may push it to 600 RWHP but no more than that. I rarely use the nitrous but I like to have it if I ever want to use it. Can I upgrade the fuel pump and run a boost a pump? Is that the best way? I dont want a stand-alone or anything of that nature and I dont want to spend outrageous amounts of money. Any imput is apprecaited.

I have a H/C Sprayed car and log fuel pressure. Currently with a Racetronics and a hotwire kit (just upgraded wiring, no BAP), the wet kit drops to low 40 PSI but recovers. BAP will probably be my next upgrade. I am 417 NA and spraying to 525. The dry kit does not reflect as much fuel pressure drop than the wet when activated.

Well what pump are people refering to when they say they have a Walbro 255 LPH, with a BAP and a Racetronics harness? They said it can be found for under $100 so I figured that was the one

There are always those people who are willing to cut corners in order to save a few $. Will a GSS340 work? YES, if you modify / disable the factory system. Will it work properly? NO.
The RX/LPE GRJ420 included with our C5 kit is a 255LPH pump when rated at 43.5PSI like all the other 34x series pumps.

^ Tim is who i talked to. he said the GSS340 is the same pump that is in their C5 kit but without the plastic surround. He said they sell it seperatly incase people want to use it in other applications.

The pump in their C5 kit is a GRJ420 which has the jet pump at the bottom and they do not sell it by itself. If you doubt this call and speak with Jason the engineer there.

GSS340 in a C5
I think Tim in our sales department may have already been in touch with you (Chris) regarding this. He was confused on the part numbers. The GSS340 Walbro/TI Auto pump is not a drop in replacement for the C5 Corvette fuel pump. It does not have the inlet side jet pump (venturi pump) required to keep the Corvette canister full. It is also not the correct inlet dimensions to fit in the module without module modifications.
The GRJ420 is our high flow replacement pump for the C5 Corvette applications. It is the same pump Racetronix includes in the C5 pump kits they sell as well.
The GRJ420 pump is only sold as a complete assembly with the plastic module.
BTW - sorry for the confusion any of this caused. Also to answer the original question, I would recommend (like others have said) the high flow pump module and then a voltage booster for when you trigger the nitrous. We normally use and sell the Kenny Bell Boost-A-Pump (BAP) and have had very good durability with the BAP and the pumps under the elevated voltages.
