What a mid sixties Corvette buyer looked like, Part 11
67HEAVEN started a good thread a few days ago. A lot of good thoughts were posted. It got me to thinking back to my 1st Corvette purchase in 1965. It turned out the be the 1st of 40 Corvettes over the next 36 yrs.
I traded my wifes '60 MGA, and my '61 Thunderbird, along with $300 cash for this '62 Corvette. Probally the best car I ever owned.
Oh yea, I forgot, I never had long hair, beard, never tried acid, LSD, or any drug, never protested, marched, or participated in any demonstration.
Post your stories, and old pictures.

Too young to have a '60s car tale. I did have a toy C1 Vette.... but some other kid stole it :( (hope that doesn't happen to my real one  )

Lemme see... 1965... I'ze drivin' a 55 Pontiac... Moons, cut-outs, Smitty's... Couldn't afford a Vette for a few more years... Like about thirty-five more years.

Let's see, in 1965 I was 13yrs old and tearing up my Chicago neighborhood on a 20' Schwinn with knobby tires, and could only build Revelle model kits of Vettes. 30 yrs later I traded that Schwinn for a Harley, and 36 yrs later for me to play with a real Vette. :seeya :seeya :seeya

1965. High School. Dreamed of a Corvette. But settled for a 1962 MGA 1600 Mark II. Last of the breed before the MGB in 1963. And a Honda CB-77 305cc cycle. Later put my way through college working in motorcycle shops. The 1969 CB750 was a technological breakthrough and spelled the end of Triumph and BSA. Did not inhale...too much carbon monoxide in the repair shop.
