Default Final Suspension Kit issues

I am in the process of ordering parts to begin my suspension/steering/brake rebuild over the winter.

After going through all of the companies packages, and getting advice from many people, it seems that Vette Brakes and Performance Suspension technologies are the most complete (including the tie rod sleeves and both inner and outer tie rod ends) Of course their price is about $130-150 more than Zip and Muskegon.

In addition the idler arm in the Zip kit is not an HD unit as it is in the above vendors.

I prefer to do it all once and do it correctly, but obviously don't want to buy the most expensive just for the name either.

So the questions are:

1. Is there a big difference between the products that each company sells? (regular idler arm vs HD)
2. Will tie rod sleeves from Muskegon or VBP fit on the Zip kit?
3. Is there a difference between the poly bushings in the various kits. They don't say on the web sites if they are polygraphite vs just poly.

I want to get started next weekend and would like to get my order out soon (before the holiday rush)
BTW On the advice of others, I am planning on doing the steering system while the suspension is out.

Thanks for the help.

I'll jump in with my opinions. Cannot help with #2 or #3, but Vette Brakes has been in business a while, and after all, they are "Vette" brakes. I know a couple of guys who have used their parts and been very satisifed. I have also ordered from Muskegon, and been very satisfied with their brake parts.

You make the call. Good luck, and post back on what you ordered and how you make out. This way others can benefit, including myself.

What i have found is that most every vendor is just a middle man. They all sell the same part for some manufacturer. My front end is done with all poly. Including the A-arms. My steering parts still include some original pieces. It really comes down to how hard are you going to stress certain things.

I do have the gift of living in a rust free area of the US.

Poly is the best way to go for very little flex and buy good uper and lower ball joints

Did you find out if there is a difference between the idler listed as HD and the not listed HD model??

They claim that these are the same. I'll have to take their word for it. :)
