Default New seat installation

I am just about finished installing a complete new interior in my 79. I purchased seats mounted on new foam from Al Noch interiors. I'm having trouble getting the cushions to hook into the clips on the seat backs. Has anyone done this? Is there a trick to it? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You need to bend (compress) the cushion into clips. I think you will need to use a long screwdriver to push the metal rod (in the cushion) in to get it to slide in the clip.

Just pushing the cushion does not give enough, the extra pressure of the screwdriver will drive the wire rod inward enough to contack the clips.

Hope this helps.

Oh-boy do I remember doing this myself awhile ago, I put a pair of 80' seats in my 71'. A forum member gave me this suggustion when I became frustrated. Buy a couple of cheap/cheesy flat-headed screwdrivers and grind a "V" into the tips. It will make it easier to hook the wire into the clip. Not easy but does make it easier. My wife and I completed this task with some yelling and #&@!*. Hope this helps and good luck!
