Default Rear oil seal leak question

If the rear oil seal is starting to leak, where am I likely to see the
evidence?? The area between the engine and tranny looks dry,
however, there is a small drop of oil coming from a small hole in the
bellhousing on the transmission.

I hope I have my terms right, the "bellhousing" I am referring to is
bolted to the transmission. As you can tell, I am a rookie mechanic, but
willing to try and learn!

BTW, this is on a 78 with an L48, 350 transmission.

Thanks.

Default Re: Rear oil seal leak question (TFeld78)

when the rear seal starts to leak,it usually drips out of the hole on the flywheel dust cover. in fact i'm pretty sure that's why they put the hole there so it drips out and doesn't build up,cuz the flywheel would sling the oil all over.
