Pulling heads off 454
Intake manifold, valve covers, rocker arms (yes, I realize they are not holding the heads on) off. 7 bolts in middle of head, 4 bolts over exhaust opeining, 4 bolts under - all off.
I can't pull of the head. Is it connected by something else? Boy do I feel like I am opening myself up for a few smart remarks.. :D

Re: Pulling heads off 454 (SuperFast80)
Flavio,
There are two small round pilots (forget the correct name) on the block under each head. They allow you to rest the heads in the correct position when installing head bolts. These will not allow you to move the heads from side to side, so to speak.
Once you are certain all the bolts are out, you will have to "help" them off the head gaskets. Be careful where you pry so as not to damage critical surfaces.
Have someone support the heads while you do this as they are "very" heavy.

Re: Pulling heads off 454 (67HEAVEN)
Thanks guys. I will go back in there tonight. I thought they needed some 'help' but before I went and screwed it up, I wanted to make sure I was on the right track.
67HEAVEN, this sure is fun!
