$$$ Aren't the issue..What do I get...
Changing the motor in my 79 l/82 over the winter. Called richmond Gear and just got a new T-10 Which is what I have now...but...
Do I go with the 330HP 350 HO Deluxe or the ZZ4
Will they both bolt up to my new transmission without modification??
Crate motor members I need your guidance..
lead me out of the darkness AND into the light....

Here is a BIG flash of light. GET THE ZZ4!!!!!!!!!!!
Great bottom end with a forged steel crank. Aluminum heads. If you add a LT4 HOT cam and 1.6 roller rockers (not a lot of money and relatively easy to do, especially if you do the cam swap before installing the engine), I think your up around 395HP.
That light should just about blind you.

Your L-82 is a 2 piece rear main seal. The engines you mention probably have the one piece rear seal. You need to check for sure. ln either case the bell housing will bolt right up so your trans will fit. The things you will need if you go with the one piece rear main seal engine are a new flywheel and new starter. I think that's it, but not for sure. GM perf parts will know exactly. :yesnod:

ZZ-4 is the way to go, everything is brand new...
You need to change the flywheel, old starter can be reused.
Original Q-Jet carb is OK to use.
Can't use the water pump that comes with the ZZ-4, you need a short legged one.
