Possible LT motor & transmission available + lots of promo stuff
For those into drubbing, insurance companies, this post is not for you!
Yes, my '91 beast went up in smoke, or was it down to molten plastic and metal. I will not know until I can get at it.
However, the insurance company sent me a check within 24 hours saying there was more to come after I sent them some "before" pictures. Once they saw a bunch of photos of #338 at shows and a clean "eat off the engine and interior", well, they over nighted another check for nearly $8,000 more. Not only that, but they reimbursed sales tax, DMV and registration fees, the whole nine yards.
Then today, they gave me the car back, to dispose of however I see fit! No charge.....!!
So hey, they ain't all bad, at least in my book. I had a stated value policy, and they came through to the dollar!
I still have all the promo and sales info, leather brief case, absolutely new bronze top and a lot more collectibles if you know of anyone in the market.
Considering that a 2008 Z06 would set me back
$77,000, I think I will go 'vetteless for the remainder of my life.
Take care all,
KX #338

The ZF6 in a ZR1 is ZR1 specific. The input shaft is longer and it has a slightly different bolt pattern on the bell housing.
Sorry to hear about your Z.
She may have left before her time, but take solace in the knowledge that there wasn't anybody in her when she went to the great wrecking yard in the sky.
Too many times sports cars take their owners with them...

Now I don't want to come across the wrong way, but I'm very interested in the promo material. I have my owners kit and a few '91 ZR-1 brochures, but would like to have any other articles, salesy stuff, etc.
Thanks and best of luck.

Sorry about the car
The ins co paid what they were supposed to and you did pay something to retain the salvage. They deducted it from what they paid you
I dont know why it is that when ins cos. do what they are contractually obligated to do people think they are just wonderful
Do you have any pics you can post of the car so we can see what parts might still be good?
Were ther any parts that werent on the car that you might sell?
Thanks
