Question about my parking brake handle
When I first saw the car, it looked out of place, almost like some aftermarket job. Instead of the button pushing in, the handle slides up and down about 1/4". Otherwise, it locks normally in place. I never thought about it again until I ran across a wrecked '79 like mine. On this car, the button can be pressed in like you would expect.
Any ideas?

You should have a thumb button. Your ebrake handle should not be sliding.
