Eastwood Golden Cad Paint system??
Has anyone used this?

If so, how did you like it? Or are there competing products?

I have seen the finished product and others here have commented on it. It won't fool anybody but it does clean up your parts nicely. It will look painted no matter how carefully you apply the products or how artistic you are. On the other hand, it beats looking at a worn-out finish on plated parts.

Mark, tried it, didn't like it. Tried again same result. I tried 5 or 6 times and could not get it to look like gold cad. When I ran out of the base and yellow coat i threw the rest away. Wound up having the parts plated.

I used it too, on my brake booster so far. As mentioned, you won't fool anyone into thinking it's real gold cad, but it makes may 20 year old booster look alot better. I had a problem with the green, no matter how much a shook the can or how far away I sprayed it, it came out to dark and didn't look right. I ended up just using the other 3 paints the achieve the look I liked. It's cheaper than buying a new booster(and alot easier considering how much of a pain it is to remove/install the booster with the steering comun/pedal assembly/dash in place), if all you want to do is 'pretty' it up. I think their titanium paint might look pretty good, and I've seen alot of people just paint the booster black, and it looks good too.

Thanks Guys! Actually what I'm looking for is something to match the color of a VB&P swaybar. I got a used rear one and want to try to match it with the new front one I have. I've been looking around and found that OEM Paints, http://www.oempaints.com/, makes a ZincFX Gold & a NuCad Gold. Problem is I can't locate any vendors of OEM products.

Mark,
Paragon sells OEM paints.
On the Gold Cad system, I agree with what the others said. I tried it on my master cylinder cover, and it looked decent, but wouldn't fool no one. If you try it, make sure you clear coat the parts after you're done, since first time I washed my engine compartment all the paint came off, and only the silver paint remained.

Since everyone says "won't fool noone", then just grab a can of 3.99 rust-oleum "gold metal" and spray away. Used that on my brake booster and headlight actuators and it looks great. No way original, but very nice and lots of compliments.
