Investment?
If I bought 9000. worth of GE stock back in 86 when I bought my Vette , it would be worth over 700000 now. With 700000 I could buy a lot of Vettes

Yea... you can "what if" yourself to death. Example: If you purchased 9000 shares of Yahoo for 50 bucks a share in 1998 it would have cost you $450,000 dollars. If you held it for two years it would have been worth $1,800,000 dollars... and if you tried to sell it today it would be worth only $135,000 dollars.... which goes to prove... only Corvettes are a safe investment.

They are the Ecklers fiberglass covers. They are about twelve years old. The covers slowly burn away but it is hard to tell. I am missing about 1/4" of the bottom of the covers. When I bought my car I had hooker side pipes. They rotted out where the pipes come together. I guess that it is a good spot for condensation. I have a set of factory covers but I need to get them rechromed. I like the way your car looks, nice paint.

Thanks Ken,
I am trying to find another set of fiberglass cover like yours (similar to mine) for another forum member. Ecklers doesn't sell a fiberglass cover for Hooker sidepipes anymore (or so the forum member told me). My old Hooker sidepipes rotted out the same place yours did. I didn't want to replace them because I am totally addicted to the sound I get from them. So I called up a sheet-metal shop and had them roll me some 4" stainless steel (20 ga.,about 8" long) and I covered the rusted joint. I used stainless steel pop rivets to fasten them to my Hooker pipes. Someday I will probably replace the sidepipes, but for now that rust is covered (the rolled stainless adds structural strength too) and I still have the sound I love coming from my exausts. It doesn't look bad either. Love your car, -one of my favorite colors....! Regards, '74 Turbocharged 350, "Molested to Perfection" , class of '71
