Lime Rock '87. Some pencil neck geek named Boris drove this one. I always knew he'd never amount to anything

PA hillclimb. Jon Valentine in another Corvette Challenge car

My Nemisis, John Halbing

Mid year with a touch of opposite lock, driver unknown

Al Harding from Allentown PA.

And from Summit Point, Al's brother Charlie. I'm in the blue drivers suit trying to figure out how to get me one of these (which I did, eventually and still have)

Not really willing to let this thread go off the page...lets go to Florida in 1972....

Now Daytona, the start....look at the Rebel, a few rows back, but not letting the prototypes off easy...I am sure she felt those Ferrari 312's sounded awfully stressed compared to her thundering big block. But they sure could go.

This car was on ebay I believe and was for sale. I saved these pics, and they closely match what "Chevrolet Power" stated was essential to do for off road use...

Main cage work on a racer...

Blue...thanks for posting the pics.I have the front nearly already done, and on to the reinforcements(early 68),reinforced the 4-speed crossmember, and getting ready to cut the crossmember to make it removeable, then to raise the rearend up in the rear crossmember a inch, and have to raise the shock mount up a inch, and the bump stop. Thanks!
Some awesome-awesome race cars here!

Road-Race Vette,

Why yes, after the 68 is finished the project 69 will become as exact as possible Greder 1974/75 configuration. It will be a replica, but as the original is not currently in the country, it will be a tribute to the efforts of Henri Greder and his cars...

Thats funny, because as well as doing the henri greder car that frank griegorian drove, I was thinking of doing a car with the "51" cars paint scheme for our next car. My paint scheme will most likely be a medley of sorts and definately not blue,, but franks car will be exact.

It is true then,"GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE"

Stan,

I am so glad you are on the forum. We talked a while back, and you had emailed me pictures of your car. Its a hope of mine to visit next year when I am out on the east coast. I was really hoping to see your car at Carlisle, but was flying the bomber all that week and could not get away. If you are ever in southern cali...

Lets agree that if you do the 51 then I do the 42 or vice versa...that way we have the chance of a good photo op one day...My preference is the 51 paint scheme, exactly, but thats because I really like real Mustangs.....P-51's

A current "vintage" racer...one of the fastest Corvette's I've seen.

Here is another shot. This thing was perfectly prepared and was one of the fastest machines of any type at the VARA Route 66 festival at California Speedway. The car belongs to Steve MacDonald, and was immaculate. It also was capable of incredible speeds. How do I post video clips? My daugnter liked it, but feels our (her) racer will be better.

The one detail for our car that I will take with us is the long hood, elimianting the wiper door and grille. Which I do not have anyway..

chrome bumper cars sure look good without the chrome bumpers or at least painted the body color.

I agree, I am not sure if that was a painted standard bumper, but it sure looked like it. Perhaps they needed to make weight?
