OUCH, almost made it home with a screaming alternator tonight and bam the serpentine belt blow 3 miles from home. I ended up having to shut it down before it overheated. Just had to vent.

well today my power steering pump was screaming and squealing and whining...

and i was thinking OH @#@!@@ IM gonna have to put in another stupid !@#@@ing pump blahhhh!!!!

then i looked at it and realized the nut on the back just came loose allowing the belt to come loose....

I hate the 8 hour agony of trying to sleep while thinking of how bad the damage could be. Then the 10 hours at work doin the 'well if im gonna do that i might as well do that too'. Then the 2 minute fix. Relief mixed with regret because now u dont have a reason to pull the engine out and build a 15:1 502 ci alloy blocked/ alloy headed engine.

I couldn't even get home tonight. I guess I will have to go get a new Alt. and belt tomorrow. At 125,000 miles it seems like everything is falling apart on it. The Heater is stuck on hot, so far I have replaced the selector switch and control valve and guess what, still hot air. The fuel sending unit went out. You have to pull the bed off to replace it. I'm losing patients with the D@#$ thing.
