Default Maybe most stupid question ever but here goes

I was wondering if you can turn a stock big block hood into an L88 hood buy buying the center part of the L88 hood from ecklers and cutting the stock hood and making a functional L88 hood out of it instead of buying the whole hood. Please be kind if indeed this is the most stupid question ever. Thanks.

On a similar note, I'm wondering how hard it would be to turn a stock big block hood into something like the one on bamavettes' '68 Motion. That is a DAMN cool looking hood, and since there's no way I can fit what I want under my stock hood, I'm going to have to do something. How hard would it be to convert to one like his?

If you want a Baldwin Motion style replica, you might want to check this out.

Looks like a good deal if that is what you are looking for.

Hey Pat thanks for the reply that is a great looking hood. Now I know there are people out there who have cut on their hoods. I guess the question is if there is any cost savings doing it this way, or if it even can be done in regards to the L88 hood. Anybody else done this?

Do you have any pictures of the underside of your hood? I'd like to do the same thing.

The hoodon My Vette is exactly that. It is a stock smallblock hood with a L88 scoop grafted on. The actual grafting looks good but the rest of the hood is in need of attention!
