Show me your spoilers!
Anyone have any pics of sharks with nice front/rear spoilers.... i've seen all the stock ones, i'm looking for aftermarket or one that wasn't for your year of vette (ie. the Pace car front spoiler on a 79), i saw a pic of that on a chrome bumper vette and though it was

Here is a pic of me and the vette, I have a 76, but someone before i bought the car, but a different rear bumper on. I kinda like the rear spoiler look. :)

I had a custom front air dam made for my 76'. Stanless Steel it's a little bit wider that helps push some more air up on the radiator. Was thinking of selling it and still am. I will try to find a pic of it.

Re: Show me your spoilers! (ylose)
Ylose, how hard/expensive was it to mod the front? I'm thinking of putting the 80-82 frontend on my 79, or maybe something like you have... Do I have to redo my paint? or can I just have the new piece painted... will urethane work??

Bifkin,
Your car is really great looking. Crisp lines, great shape...if you want an 80, buy an 80. You may find yourself saying, "My God, what have I done?"
I'm not an originality freak, I'm just not a fan of tack-ons on any car, especially your perfect 79.

Re: Show me your spoilers! (foundvettelifeisgood)
hmmm... That was definately a concern of mine....
Should I just go with an indy spoiler? and maybe some sort of rear spoiler... and sidepipes.... and lower it a bit...
I'm concerned with aesthetics, but there are no ugly vettes... so i'm more concerned with aerodynamics....

Re: Show me your spoilers! (Bifkin)
mine was like this when I bought it.....
do what you want to your 'vette......listen to others and then choose for yourself....some like to be pushy and negative.....
personally I can't stand the "original-only" freaks and their 'need to look like it came from shop down to the valve stems'. But thats my HO.
here is a lot of mods if your interested.

I like the post above that said you had a nice ride....you do...one other thing to think of is....will the add-ons go with this color...I think color of the Vette has a lot to do with what you can do with it and still look good.
Do what you want and enjoy your 'vette....its your car and you paid for it..
parts like my front clip can be found as one piece or add-ons.

Bifkin,
My first Vette was a '79. When I first got it, I knew that I wanted to add the Pace Car spoilers (RPO D80 in '79). I love the way it turned out.
My CF website has a page dedicated to my '79. The pics aren't great (scanned pictures), but you can see before and after shots. Here is a link to the page:
http://www.corvetteforum.net/c3/qikstik/index4.shtml
My preference is to keep my Corvettes looking as close to original as possible, but to each his own! Do what YOU want to YOUR Corvette.....AND ENJOY IT!
Let us know what you decide!!

Re: Show me your spoilers! (QikStik)
hmm... I really love the 80 front, but i don't want to screw up what i heave... and i don't want to spend a lot of money on that, atleast not yet...
Plus, the paint is going to be a pain to match, given that its not a solid color...
I like the look of groovyjay's for a 79, but I love the look of the red 80's like bseery and others...
Which front fascia is better for cooling/aerodynamics... I plan to drop a 502 in this badboy, and i'd imagine a top speed in the 150-200mph area... (hell, my 4cyl turbo ricer does 130 stock....)
I'm definately not a stickler for keeping it original... i like a nice blend of class vette with modern technology...
