Default Pictures of Vette-Air Inlet and Halltech Venom Install on LS2

Modshack (mainly) and I installed the Vette-Air system and a Halltech Venom Intake on my LS2 equipped 06 today. Modshack had already installed the Vette-Air system on his 08 so it didn't take us very long to complete the job, about an hour and a half start to finish. He is waiting on the Halltech Killer Bee for his car which is supposed to arrive on Monday. I am sure he will post some pictures when he gets it installed.

Stock LS2 Intake Setup after being removed (What a beast).

LS2 MAF housing which is reused with the Halltech Venom.

Vette-Air Inlet

Halltech Venom

Venom Filter (and Halltech Killer Bee)

Vette-Air Installation:
Car with radiator shroud and OEM intake removed and MAF housing reinstalled with Halltech connector.

Modshack lying down on the job.

Cutout from radiator cover to install Vette-Air Inlet

Modshack giving me a hand.

Vette-Air Inlet installed.

And fully bolted down.

No Steve we don't need to drill a hole there.

Then we added some insulation and put the radiator shroud back on.

Finally we installed the Halltech Venom.

The car runs great. I can't wait to see how it does when we get some cooler weather. Today is the first day in the last four that it has been under 100 degrees.

THANKS MODSHACK!

Here are a couple of other views of the Vette-Air Inlet. Its easier to see how it dumps air in the filter area from these angles.

If we keep practicing John, we'll eventually get good at this!

Yes we seem to be a pretty good team. I am usually a good helper.

Its like anything else the more you do something the easier it is.

BTW my Mustang buddy Ruf wants to check out your car. He is supposed to come by here tomorrow between 1:30 and 2:00 pm. If you will be home then I will give you a call.

Yes Ed should give me a sweet deal on one of those Halltech shrouds he makes after all the money I have spent with him and the free advertising I have given him.

Or better yet we can start working on some caps for Modshack.

Hey, that's nice too. Some day I'll have an original idea. Till then, I've got a lot of other's ideas to implement.

Modshack is a real inventor. He came up with a airbox for the Audi TT Turbo that he sells all over the world. He has some good ideas for the Vette too.

very nice, i've been thinkin' about getting one of those scoops too...but i'm not sure why you insulated the shroud. the air temp should be the same on either side, plus if the tape gives way the insulation will wrap around the filter.

Quicker cool air recovery after sitting still (heat will radiate into that area. The thin plastic shroud will do little to mitigate that).....Plus the hot radiator is immediately under the air bridge with nothing but a thin piece of plastic to separate the 2. (Now that space is insulated). Cooler air to the intake is the goal, and it's been proven that lower IAT temps result in less timing pullback and more power. Don't worry...The insulation isn't moving.....

We also added more tape than what you can see in the pictures when we were finishing up. I think the insulation will improve the temp in the airbox area. Like Modshack said the thin piece of plastic is all that separates the intake from the radiator.

more tape? good! but i still think once the car starts moving or the fans come on the air on either side will be the same temp.

Apparently you didn't read my response above..You're still dealing with a 200 degree+ Radiator...

Think Outside the (air) box....
