Default New Results - K&N - Ported Intake and Ported TB - over 500 RWHP

Car previously dyno'd 493 before adding my ported intake manifold and ported TB - gained 16 RWHP - curve does not fall off on the top and torque is a plateau ....mirrors the CFM gains of the porting.

Only mods are as listed - K&N, Ported Intake and Ported TB - stock engine with stock exhaust manifolds and stock exhaust.

Wow Charlie, I think you are the FIRST to achieve this task! Congrats brotha...you are cooking up some great meals over there

We were going to try the same thing with a customer down here in Texas, but he decided to install a set of headers anyway...oh well!

Again, congrats and keep cooking up those killer meals

Nice job Charlie. You must have dynoed that car right after I left your shop yesterday. I think that is an all time high for having no headers.

Impressive to say the least....I should have an intake and tune by this weekend. Now you've got me wanting to do the ported throttle body and intake. Does it ever end?

Does anyone else find it unusual that this car dynoes 493 rwhp w/o any mods? What type of Dyno?

Was the car retuned AFTER the ported intake/TB was installed? Over 500RWHP by just porting the intake/TB and adding a K&N...?

It had a dyno tune and air filter for the 493. Then they added the intake and TB, then retune to get it over 500.

Congrats, omw tomorrow to get a local shop to tune my Z. Only mods will be a ported intake/TB and Vararam. Can't wait to post the results. Bad part is their dyno reads 10-15rwhp lower then any other dynojet in the city.

No, I don't. I've seen some cars come in and dyno really crappy, while others come in and make you do a double take

This Z happens to be a very strong example! I said it before and I will say it again: PEOPLE, please drive your cars...drive them like it was meant to be driven. I've seen people pick up another 8 and sometimes 10rwhp by simply driving the car hard (not stupid hard) but hard like it was built for

Thanks,
Carlos...EL Loco Driver

I believe that this dyno is not a dynojet and reads higher. The relative change is what is important since the dyno is a tuning tool!

Correct on count 1, not a Dynojet but incorrect on count 2, does not read higher.

Slice it any way you like, >500 SAE rwhp from tune, intake and ported TB/Intake is too high. Stock is around SAE 450rwhp and 420rwtrq. on a dynojet as demonstrated on numerous cars.

Don't get me wrong, I know you do excellent work and if I decide to port anything, I will come to you for a re-tune and porting with my intake, headers and tune car! a dyno is a tuning tool, so it is the relative gains that are key!
