[event]ALMS Grand Prix of Mosport Aug. 23-26
Well once again folks, it's that time of year to go to Mosport to see the boys of the Corvette Racing team do us proud! This is a great event, anyone who has been there in the past can attest to that. If you have never been to this event, there is no time like the present! Ron Fellows will be there racing his white C6R along with the two yellow C6R's, this very well may be Ron's last race at Mosport driving a Corvette Racing car!!! You can also watch Ron drive the Cadillac race car in the Speed GT race!!
Info from the Mosport website:
Tickets for the Corvette Corral, part of the Mobil 1 presents The Grand Prix of Mosport (Aug. 23-26), are now on sale. The Corvette Corral is a VIP Hospitality package that is sold exclusively to Corvette owners.
This weekend features the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) www.americanlemans.com and Canada’s Ron Fellows - in what might be his final Mosport ALMS appearance driving for the Factory Corvette team.
The Corvette Corral is located on the inside of Corner Eight (a hard-breaking right turn at the end of the Andretti Straightaway) Tickets for this special program are $95 per person and included the following:
Four-Day SuperTicket to the Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport (featuring the ALMS, along with SPEED World Challenge (GT & Touring), Star Mazda, Formula BMW, IMSA GT3 Cup and IMSA Lites)
Private Chalet Tent & parking area exclusively for Corvette Corral guests (only Corvettes will be admitted to the parking area), open Friday to Saturday.
Fully catered lunch & beverages (soft drinks, juice & water) on race day (Sunday)
Presentations and meet & greets with Corvette Racing team personnel, including drivers
A Souvenir Race Magazine Program, ear plugs and pass holder
A chance to participate in a parade lap around Mosport’s famed 4-km circuit (details and scheduled to be finalized)
All of this for just $95!
Call the Mosport Hotline at 1-800-866-1072 (weekdays 9 am – 5 pm) to place your order or order your tickets on-line ONLINE TICKETS

We can use this thread to organize any group events for this event such as convoys to and from the track, to find out who is going and on what days, as well as perhaps pints 'n bites events after long days at the track!
I will be at the track all three days, and I hope to see a few of you there!
Some teasers from past events, turn it up!!:

Hi Bruce, I will be there again all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday helping out. I will have BIG RED with me parked just outside of the main Corvette Corral tent.
I hope to see as many Corvette Forum members as well as Corvette owners there for another great event!

Still waiting for mine in the mail, but I'll be there Friday to Sunday.
Why don't we all meet up somewhere out in the east end, say off the 401 in Scarbrough and go via convoy.

We were told by the corral people at Mid-Ohio that this year the pace laps will be done differently at Mosport. The 1st 100 Corral tickets sold will be on the pace laps, NOT the 1st 100 signed in.
Unfortunately the laps will be Sunday morning at 8:00AM, this is the time given by IMSA not the corral organizers. This guarantees the laps, as a later time could be scraped by the IMSA officials if anything went wrong on the track in the morning before the laps.
Going to go order my ticket now. DONE !

I just noticed that my ticket is good for 4 days, Thursday - Sunday, but since the offical schedule isn't released yet, I don't know what is happening on the Thursday.

I just ordered mine last night, so hopefully the tickets are sent out randomly and not in sequential order, if not I get to sleep in Sunday morning.

May I suggest something? It seems that those that are attending live in either the extreme west end or the extreme east end. Perhaps a common meeting place in the west end for the west end crew, and then convoy to meet the east end crew in the east, and then head over together to Mosport.

I wouldn't worry about the ticketing numbers for anyone who has already purchased tickets. It would appear that the tickets started at #101 this year so #180 would be about #80.
Don't forget that some people are purchasing 2 tickets but only bring 1 car for the parade laps. Other people don't participate in the lapping and others won't be there at 8 a.m. Personally I'm not complaining after being at Mid-Ohio at 8 a.m. on Friday to register for laps that night at 8:15 p.m. It made for a very long day and we were driving in dusk.
The Mosport Corvette Corral schedule is being working on by all parties concerned (IMSA, Mosport, Corvette Racing, GM, etc.) and will be posted after final approval. Thursday and Friday will be set-up and practice days for the racing teams. Us volunteers hope to be set-up on Friday to register Corral participants who show up then. It is a great day to walk through the paddocks.
Saturday will probably have some speakers, etc., but the majority of Corral events will be on the Sunday. As always, the schedule is subject to change depending on the availability of speakers, drivers, etc.
We hope that the Mosport Corvette Corral will be a sell out for Ron Fellows last Canadian C6R race.

Thanks for the info Nick; looks like I will still be able to do a parade lap!! Are you affiliated with Mosport or IMSA or ALMS? You seem to have insider information! Did you meet the Canadian crew from the forum down in Mid-Ohio?
It would be nice to send Ron off in a grand fashion.

Actually I'm Janet (Nick's wife) and we met the Cdn. contigent at Mid-Ohio. Along with Livio and a couple of other folks, Nick and I are volunteers at the Mosport Corvette Corral (and have been for the previous 2 years). A couple of us have had a meeting with Mosport to see how we can help at the corral and make things run smoothly.
Last year there were probably 105 corvettes on the parade lap and no one was turned away. The volunteers were just trying to facilitate a way of not having to have people turn up at 8 a.m. on Saturday to sign up for parade laps on Sunday morning. I know that between Livio an ourselves we have the 1st 4 tickets sold and they are #101-104.
So don't worry, just show up to support the C6R team and hope for great weather.

Got my Corral Tickets!
Nos. 140 and 141.
Not sure yet when I will and won't be there, other than Sunday, when I'll be there all day. Will wait for more detailed event info (and work schedule...) before deciding.
