Default **Corvette Surveillance cams at work**

Hey my CF buddies

......Today I set my on-board DVR and cameras to record front and rear video when the car is parked along with sound for security purposes.(minimal battery drain).
..... Next week I'm wiring a quarter sized transmitter so I can tune to a certain cable TV channel on any TV within a 1/2 mile radius and see what my car sees live.

on with my story

It was dinner time and a Culver's DB Cheeseburger was on my mind so off I go a few blocks away.

..... I was inside eating and I could not see my car for my entire dinner. When I finished eating, I headed back home.
Along the way in front of me was an S10 pickup with dual exhaust (I thought, possible V8). I was behind him for about 5 blocks and he was making all kinds of unnecessary noise with his exhaust.
When I turned the corner he moved over and it looked to me like he slowed down a bit. I thought to my self , he can't be waiting for me....
Then when I got next to him they just looked over. I decided to kick my rear towards him about a foot and let my exhaust scream through his open window. I never saw them again. Probably a 4 cyl.

....Back home, I was checking out the video to see if it was worth posting. When I was going through it I was surprised to see someone walking around my car and kneeling. Then I notice he was only taking pictures (no key scratches). You can also see him in my rear view mirror. I'm going to be posting some candid car videos of people talking ,some is pretty funny.

Hey
I have an Idea .
I should start a show called "Candid Corvette Cam" or CCC and post all my Vette's video encounters in parking lots. I'll turn my mic on high sensitivity so I can hear them whisper, what do you guys think ?

It looks like he likes my "AM WOODY" plates.

Here's a link to the chopped video.
I shrunk it down from 500mb to 12mb for download purposes. You can still enlarge it and see pretty good

I guess it would be kind of fun to be a fly on the wall and hear some of the stuff my car might hear from passersby.

After hearing about the LEO tactic of tailgating and aggressive driving to bait you into speeding, I think it might be a good idea to have one of these camera/recorders running while you are driving. If someone could catch that sort of behavior on tape, that's the end of that officer's career.

Haha, that's kind of a funny idea.

I was eating lunch at a burger joint one time, and saw some young dude getting up to my car close, kneeling. At first I thought, hey now, what is this a-hole doing? Then I noticed he was taking photos. Ahh, taking pictures? Ok, that's cool!

I didn't hear about the baiting with the cops. When I'm driving the cams are always on though. The only time they are off is in my garage which has it's own cams.

I am going to offer the system installed in cars at my shop.
It records on a compact flash .
I monitor what's recording on my in dash screen. I can also play it back there on the fly.
It's set on high quality recording and also set to record continuously overwriting the begining so I cannot miss anything due to a full CF card. It can record up to 4 hours HQ vid on a 8 GB flash.

ballsy leaving your radar detector within reach.

I like the idea, mount side cameras so we can get some driving video like in movies.

I could be mistaken, but I believe it is illegal to record audio without consent. Cams are cool though.

Are you retired? Or do you simply not have much to do at work?

The DVR I integrated into my car is made by chase cam. I have about $1400 in parts and hours to properly wire in my C6. I also had to make custom mounts for the cams .

Here's a surveillance video from the car show tonight.

I trimmed a 2 hour video into 5 minutes.
See the kid on the little scooter? a little close don't you think?
A lot of people were giving the father a hard time by his son being close to their cars with it.

Cute ladies at the show this evening also.
