Anyone used "Scorpian" brand rocker arms? (problems!!)
Anyone used "Scorpian" brand rocker arms?... cause i just punched a hole thru one of them with a pushrod... upon futher inspection.. looks like about 13 others are cracked in that same area now. I spoke to Scorpian about it and they are gonna send me a new set for free, but are at a lose as to why they cracked also. They said my cam is well within spec for these rocker arms...
anyone had problems with these parts before? This is the FIRST bad experience that i've heard about for them.

Wow, never heard this. Do you have enough spring travel so you are not approaching coil bind? How about retainer to seal distance? Do the seals look OK?
Can you shoot some photo's?

the springs are definately NOT binding... that was my first thought also.
I'll be pulling them off in the AM and will get some good pics during the removal.
I am actually VERY relieved that it was rocker arms breaking... i just rolled on the throttle hard because a mustang "taunted" me... ..it would have been my first victum since the maggie install. BANG!... bam bam bam bam... I seriously thought i put a piston thru the oil pan.
I will post pics soon, and also post anything that Scorpian tells me.

I had a set in my smallblock chevy powered mustang that ran 9.18@ 151 on street tires and never had any problems. I dont know if the gen 3 rockers are inferior though. Normand

the valve train consisted of unported/unmodified LS6 heads, Comp cam springs,Ti locks, comp cam "magnum" push rods and ofcourse the Scorpian "LS1" roller rocker arms. They were shipped back to Scorpian today and they are sending me a new set, and say they have no idea why they would have failed.
almost all of them were cracked in the same area as the one that failed.

piston to valve clearance wasn't checked... they are a set of stock LS6 heads. We also put about 8-9000 miles on this set before they broke. I assume that if it were a clearance issue that it would have broken rather quickly and we would have heard them.
We checked the valve springs... they aren't binding under full compression.
We are using a cam that Scorpian says is within the range to use with these rockers. (.585 lift)
And we are using pushrods that they said will work fine.
and yes, it went right thru it and was bouncing off the top of the valve cover. Makes a helluva noise. About 13 others had cracks in the same area as the one that is broken.

Could they have sent your the wrong ratio rocker arms? Could you be getting P/V issues?
That's nasty... Id' ask for my money back, but who knows. I'm running the new Yella Terras, oem ratio w/o issue.

Grey never discussed the ratio like I mentioned before.. I bent 13 valves with 1.8 rockers with 59cc head and a .580 (w/1.6 rockers) cam.
I guess were all learn the hard way.. They are VERY kind replacing the rockers at no charge.. If you make NO changes, you can expect the SAME results!!
