Default Unique Corvettes

It was suggested that I post this in the C1&2 Forum too. I just posted it in the C3, where the question was asked:

Went in there Yesterday Habib. Don't let the pretty building fool you! It's an unairconditioned warehouse on the inside with about 20 cars. the only 2 red cars in there were a c3 red, red chrome bumper coupe which was beautiful, and a maroon c2 67 vert. The vert was priced @ 85,000.00. There wasn't another car in the place with a price on it. Really strange thing was there was no one there to help except a really nice guy named Arnold. He was a mechanic with no idea of the cost of the cars.

Gave me the owners (Jason) card and told me to call him. I called him about an Ermine White 66 vert, and he quoted me 64000. Wouldn't budge. Car was beautiful...but way over priced.

Only place I've ever gone to where even if I wanted to stroke a check, i couldn't because there was no salesman there. Very, Very strange.

I ended up buying this car yesterday. http://www.fraserdante.com/3878%20-%...e/66vette.html

Unique could have had my business if someone was there and they were fairly priced.

They used to be located in Long Island NY

-----------------------------------------------

Their cars always:

- are pristine
- well documented
- close to flawless and correct

They don't list prices until you ask.

They don't bargain.

They are expensive $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Very successful 25+ year in business

As I remember, when they were based in Long Island, New york - they had a good reputation.

Essentially, they flip cars.

They buy pristine high quality cars and then sell them for a much higher price than they buy them.

Very nice car Steve, congrats. I love white interior cars, especially with Nassau blue.

Were you able to get a discount or did you pay full ask?

It often Baffles me why anyone would use some of the Dealers to buy a car. All cars should be Appraised if you do not know enough about the type of vehicle you are buying. Ever wonder why cars are moving all over the country? Car dealers just move them along hoping to find the unsuspecting. A cars history is coming into play more and more. Due Diligence is required! Companies like this are going after a particular target market - most of us are NOT that market. The people in this market will not buy an item unless it is priced HIGHER than most others like it, irregardless of it's true quality or value - they equate the higher price with higher value, and want nothing less - and some of the time they are right, and some of the time they are wasting (some of)thier money. If they want to buy a pair of sunglass's they will walk into a "Sunglass Hut" and ask for thier most expensive pair - "$400?, I'll take em"....because they want, or feel they deserve, nothing less. You don't really think there is 5k worth of material and labor in a low end Rolex watch do you?? Of course not, but if that watch wasn't priced at 5k, that target market wouldn't buy it - plain and simple............"Price it high, or they won't buy"

Default Unique

Bought my first 63 there. Appraisal was good, correct engine, etc. Turned out to have a cracked cylinder ,had been bored .080 over. No satisfaction from Unique. Learned my lesson and subsequently a lot more about machine shops and engine building. Be sure to get a competent mechanical inspection as well as appraisal. I will never buy an older car w/o doing a leak down check again! Good Luck

$1500.00 off. Had it checked by 2 mechanics. Both agreed the car is an 8.5 outta 10.

God, I love that combo - Blue, white interior, white stripe, knock offs, BB hood, sidepipes, headrests......Thats a 10 outta 10 in visual options!

Did this picture of my car last year to help make the decision to go to blue during my rebuild after an accident.... so eventually, I'll be there.
