BPP Brake Duct Mod (Lots of Pics)
After seeing GBVette (Gary) and illmac77 (Mike) molded BBP brake ducts I had to have them. Lucky for me Gary and Mike live close to me and they offered to help me mold mine in. With out their help and Gary's shop I never could have made it this far. THANK YOU MIKE AND GARY
Day 1
While Mike and I where out picking up supplies Gary started the cutting
(Gary cut the passengers side rocker panel and Mike cut the driver's side)
Mike prepping the duct for installation
Using pieces from the panel we cut out Mike and I fabricated supports and epoxied them in the openings to give us something to adhere the ducts to
Mike checking for fit and holding the duct in place while the 5 minute epoxy sets up (I worked on one side while Mike worked on the other)
Brake Duct roughed in
This is the filler Mike found. By using it we where able to skip molding the ducts in with short hair fiberglass (saved us tons of time )
First coat of filler applied
Gary checking Mike's work (better Mike that Me ) Notice Gary's new lift?
Sanding the first coat
Second coat applied and ready for sanding
End of Day 1
Day 2
From this point I am on my own, well with the exception of me calling Mike three or four time for pointers.
First I masked off the car for priming and sanding. I learned that primer is great for pointing out flaws so spent from 11 AM to 6 PM priming then sanding then filling then sanding then priming......you get the picture
This is the primer Mike and Gary recommended I use, it works great!
End of second day's work. It is starting to look good.....
Days 3 and 4 pics to come.....

AWESOME... you guys are getting it down to a science... glad I decided to make mine a track bitch or I'd have more money to spend. You need to rip off those pesky BSMs now to go w/ the new smooth look.
