Default Grand Sport 340 at Le Mans 2007

Hi all... I thought some of you might be interested in my trip to Le Mans 2007. Gmoller (forum member) and I shipped our cars to Germany to meet up with the International Corvette club for a 3 week trip around Europe with a stop off at Le Mans 2007. I'll post images and info on this page.

The costs aren't really that high. You can ship a car over (1 way) roll on roll off for around $800.00.... We shipped the cars over in a container and the cost is $1500.00 each way per car.

Car Insurance for the month, $135.00

I have family living all over europe so I plan on visiting them. while at lemans you sleep at the track in tents. Can't miss any of the action!!

A lot of people ship there cars over. Sometimes it's CHEAPER then renting a car.

Good for you, I bet you'll have fun. I'd love to tool around Europe, spend time on the Autoban and Neurenburg ring in a fast American car.

The closest I ever got was tooling around the Gulf in a couple of Holdens. (Chevy Lumina=Monaro and Caprice LTZ=Comodore)

Have a great time

Mike

Man Rob, that's gotta be a blast! I look forward to hearing about some high speed runs in the GS. I take it she's running well?

Hi

I was at the Le Mans, and at the drivers parade on Friday. Me and my dad went "WOWW another Grand Sport!", (there are only very few in europe)...then I saw the plate, the wheels....and I just went waaaaait a minute......Thats "bluewasp"...

So I went to the corvette camping spot and meet bluewasp, a great guy. And the first time I have seen another Grand Sport, then my own no.82

Here is your car at the parade rob...

At the camping spot...

On the track...

Lars,

It was nice meeting you too!! Wish we had more time to talk but with all of the events going on I was being pulled in 15 directions!

Are you going to Hockenhiem this weekend? I'll be there with the car and I ship out Monday!

The parade was unbelievable!!! I'm extremely happy you took pictures of the car in the parade... I almost didn't make it because the car was so dirty. Le Mans Staff wouldn't let me in but Team corvette insisted. Several members from team corvette ran back and forth to a near by fountain to fill empty water bottles to help me wash the car. After she was clean I was given 3 large boxes of beads to throw out the window to the crowd . Kind of like mardi gra. I was able to get my picture taken with ron fellows. which was really cool.

Let me know if you will be attending the Corvette Euro meet this weekend.
robert
