So confused about iPod W/Nav options...
So after reading the sticky in the Audio forum it seems like the USA Spec PA11-Vette is the best option until the GM factory option that works with NAV is released (probably never)...
However, I have an older 15gig iPod and according to the specs for the PA11:
Compatible with iPod™ 3G, 4G, 5G, Mini, Nano, Photo, Video [not compatible with 1st & 2nd Generation (10GB/15GB)] or Shuffle.
So I guess I'm hosed, unless I get a new video iPod...
So long story short...anyone have a WORKING iPod solution for an 06 3LT WITH NAV? One that doesn't drain your battery or anything wild like that? I could care less if I can't control the iPod perfectly with the touch screen...as I used to control the iPod manually in my non-NAV C6 just fine...
I've spent the last 2 hours looking up info on the boards and am more confused now than I was when I started...
this shouldn't be this hard...

I'm having my USA Spec PA11-Vette installed in my 2007 Bose/NAV convertible tomorrow @ 10AM. I have a few people waiting for a review, I'll post up as soon as I get done.
Did you end up getting the yellow car?

Ya, I'm sure I could just replace the entire NAV unit with an aftermarket one, but I was hoping to save myself some of the $$ that would cost and find something that would work...
I've seen the USA SPEC11 setup, but it says it's not compatible with my older iPod. I hate to buy a new iPod, as I'm waiting for a new 16:9 video iPod to be announced/released after the iPhone...
But anyways, I'll have to keep searching for something...I really don't want to shell out over $1000 for a replacement NAV unit...

2005-up CHEVY CORVETTE SPEC.DOCK PACKAGE WITH COMPLETE INTERFACE
Just called them and that might work. They say it provides the necessary AUX input and interface with the iPod without draining the car's battery but still keeping the iPod charged. It works with the NAV, and has two modes of opperation. One that uses the touchscreen, but is limited to 5 playlists, and the other allowing complete control on the iPod itself.
I think I might investigate this option further. It costs more than the other solutions, but it seems as though it might actually work without too much trouble or risk to a dead battery.
