K&N oil filter different for 2007 than 2005/6 C6
When I first bought my 2007 C6 at the end of September I bought several K&N HP-1007 oil filters, as I don't think a cross reference for 2007 was available at that time. Now I find out there's a different number for 2007 (HP-1017). I called K&N, and they said the the one for 2007's is 3.34" tall (vs 3.8"), and also has a pressure relief valve, which the 2005/6's don't have.
So my question is, is anyone using HP-1007's in a 2007 C6? I still haven't changed the oil yet, as I've only put 400 miles on before winter hibernation, and plan on doing the 1st at 500 miles.

Yeah, I called the place where I bought them 4 months ago (TruckPartsEast.com), and they're going to swap them out for me. They had the best price I've found on K&N oil filters ($8.97), with free shipping after you spend a certain amount ($50 I think?).
The HP-1017 fits both 2007 C6 & Z06

Melting Slicks
M1 and HP filters and some AC filters are all made by the same company (they also make Walmart's house brand filter).
They are all made to different specs and vary from pretty decent to very good filters.
