buying them now.

The stock bulbs are stinky for late night driving through the mountain ranges.

Thanks Megaladon!

I think the only thing you need to worry about is the power draw through the stock wiring. Too much draw can light up your wiring like a light bulb filament.

Very simple to solve, just search for the thread about wiring in relays to power your headlamps,,,,,,,,,,Peace,,, Moosie

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifie....php?id=150047

http://community-2.webtv.net/VanStuff/VanagonWestfalia/

Just substitute the word Vanagon for the word Corvette, after all the headlamps and relays dont know what brand of car they are going on,,,,,DO THEY ?

Vanagon Big Amp Headlamp Relays
I also have available genuine VW issue headlamp relay kits that will allow you to one of three things--
(A) Have your stock headlamps be brighter.
(B) Be able to run bigger wattage headlamps without fear of burning up your wiring harness, or light switches--
(C) Allow the headlamps to get full current
off of the battery directly.

All pre wired --all you have to do is plug them in--an easy and excellent update for your stock, or Big wattage headlamp bulb
lighting system.
This relay installation, will take AT THE MOST 20 to 30 minutes of your time--

$41.00 plus $4.25 priority mail shipping, anywhere in the US.

Genuine VW Big Amp Relay Kit For Your Vanagon
This is the Kit---which consists of--( 2 ) 40 amp genuine VW relays, (2) relay mounts all the wiring and connector's pre wired, each wire tagged for easy identification to connect them, wire ties, and a simple to understand instruction sheet--no confusing wiring diagrams--

It's easier than you think---really--:>)

I took that junk out of my 73. I was replacing bulbs all the time. I guess the bulbs are to fragile when hot so when the headlight doors close it was wacking the fillement. And they would load up with condensation when I washed the car. They are pure Junk

Cost me more to fill my Vette up with gas one time than this complete headlight package, I'm gonna give them a try

I have them installed, they work great, and they draw almost no current. Very cool effect. I have mine on a switch so I can use them during dusk, and turn them off when the headlights are turned on.

They are, but the HALO is just a small ring around the edge of the headlight that lights up on it's own wiring. The bulb at the back is still separate, and the two can be run without one another.

Tomorrow at dusk I'll go get some pics of the halo lit and then of the light on. They look awesome.
