I think right now I am the only one running true coilovers on the front. If you do not need to cut out the spring pockets you are not running true coilovers.
Mine required alot of cutting and welding.

There's not a lot of adjustment in the shark bite kit either w/ a small block, you have to cut the springs to drop it down...and the 30$ spanner...that thing seems to be made from tin foil
Also, a coil over and a semi coil over are not the same. The semi coil over still uses the frame pocket and the only major advantage it offers is (some) ride height adjustment. The kits I've seen out there all use the lower arms shock mount, IMO still a scary system. I've seen older Carrera (now QA1) had a system for other models that had a large plate that dropped into the lower control arm spring pocket to spread the load.....I wonder why none of the vette kits have this.

If you have the time, skills, and equipment Norval's set-up is the way to go.

Totally agree, thats why i ended up going with the VB&P front monospring. None of the aftermarket kits beefed up the shock mount in the lower a-arm to support the weight of the front of the car, and with my luck I wasn't taking a chance.

I'll probably be goin with the QA1s from jegs...being i don't have the 1K+ to spend on the other guys products.....If it looks too "unsafe" when I install them I'll have to held up a bracket like norvalwilhelm did and mount them like that....
thanks for all the replies and help!

Just installed Van Steel control arms and coilovers. Had to do some grinding at the upper spring seat. The best thing is you can adjust the ride heigth with a minnor adjustment.

BUT the main advantage to me is the ability to check a corner for suspension bind or bump steer. When I do anything , any modification around a suspension I pull that coilover and move the suspension through it's full travel. Again it is so easy to remove the shock with the coil attached and that corner then moves freely, well after the link for the sway bar is removed.
Marck talked me into doing the coilovers. I was against doing it at the time but with his push I went for it and am really glad I went that route.
It was not cheap or easy, involved alot of cutting and custom parts but worth the effort in the end.
