Default AeroForce Interceptor OBD-ll in A-pillar

Anyone ever try this? It is more than a reader as it records also. The best this is that it can display more than one input.

I like that it does this - "Knock Retard"

Beats running EFI Live all the time logging to see if you are getting knock

Love mine, but it causes issues on the C5's data buss; resulting in error codes. The manufacturer recommends running the scan gauge at a slower scan time, but this hasn't helped mine. <shrug>, still like it though.

I have heard of communications issues. How are you guys running the Interceptor and EFI or others?

Thanks,
Norm

I loved my Interceptor in the GTO and really want to put one in the ZO6 I eventually buy. Is there anyone using one successfully?

I bought one from FLP and should install it in about a week. It also has provisions for 2 analog inputs, so it can display a wideband O2 reading

I'm guessing that it would fit nicely in a pillar pod. Having analog-in is handy if a parameter not measured by the OBD II needs to be displayed. An intake air pressure differential would be great to see when it's time to change the air filter, but intake air temp is also nice to know.

I like the possibilities of this thing!

Interesting. I'm going to contact the company with some questions. Looks like a pair of those in a pillar pod with a hookup to a wide band O2 would show PLENTY of info to run around and watch.

I just got an e-mail back from one of the companies that sells them (not a supporting vendor), and they said AFR could be displayed on there, but it'd have to be wired up by the purchaser. You'd use the analog 1 or 2 pins for that. It's a nice looking unit, but if I want to log using EfiLive, then my gauge won't work because I've got to plug into the OBDII port.

True. But if you're logging via EFI Live then you can just look at the computer screen there. Unless you're talking AFR then yeah, unless maybe you build a splitter for the WBO2 cable and run it to integrate with EFI Live????

Default For those who have one installed in a C5 Z06...

"Not all are supported by every vehicle, so there is no guarantee that the Interceptor will display all of these on your particular car
or truck."

The Z06 has a tranny temp sensor, does this unit, when installed in a Z06, display the transmission temp? (would really like to monitor this while on the road course...)

thanks!

not sure what is being asked...my scangauge displays trans temp, but since I don't have a Z06, it shows something like 37* all the time. Pretty sure it would display trans temp on a Z06.

Do you have any issues with the gauge or throwing codes from it or anything like that? Thanks!

The gauge can cause various trouble codes as it may interfere with communication timing between various modules and the PCM. This is noted on the aerospace web site. Happens to me most often in cold weather.

Overall my scanner work 99% of the time during warm weather and about 80% when it's cold.

Interesting, I never had as single trouble code with mine in the GTO.
