Default Tommy Michalkowski (tomdcarguy) slays in Vette Doctors Pro 8 Shootout

Holy cow!!! I thought I was the Davey beating Goliath but Tommy is the Dragon Slayer!!!!

With the small qualified field of two cars coming to race today and only Tommy the one of two alternates showing, he would have to beat Angelo Valla who just ran 7.91 and Paul Major who just ran 7.54.

As luck would have it, Tommy escaped a near collision on the track as Angelo lost it and crossed the track in front of Tommy tagging the wall (he is okay except for a sore cheek). Then as he paired with Major, the rear on the Silver Z of Major's snapped sending Tommy on his way to his first Trophy and event win.

We saw some great racing and held our breath but luckily all is good except some damage to the Blue C3

Awesome job Tom, sometimes it's more about attrition than speed You definitely earned the victory with some great driving.

Great job and enjoy the win

Congrats Tommy.

Was this in the black TT C5 that was at the Atco rental?

Like they say, It is better to be lucky than good!

Sorry to hear about Major & Ang. As long as everyone is OK.

I thought Tommy would be DQ'd for failure to signal when he changed lanes

Congrats to Tommy the Drayon Slayer Guy

Nice defensive driving job and thank God no one was seriously injured. Hope to see Ang back in the saddle soon & congrats on the 7 sec pass.

Thank you all!!! It was a strange-luck day for me, didn't even make a clean pass all day, but I did get a new best 60 ft.1.42. I'm just glad Angelo is ok! No doubt he'll be back after a taste of the 7's. Paul, sorry about the rear but probably for the best because the track condition really turned for the worst.
Had a great time at dinner, a lot of laughs.
Ralph... turn signals??? in Jersey??? C'mon!!!!!
