Default Headlight adjustment and Aim

I have never had the headlight lamps aimed correctly on my 1965 convt. Is there an easyway ...or rule of thumb on how to do it sucessfully in my garage with only handtools? I'm tired of blinding everyone who faces me at night.

I used a lonely gravel road at night, adjust a little, drive a little, adjust, drive, etc. Beat trying to find the center of the beam on the garage wall. All you need is a phillips screwdriver.

The AIM has a procedure but does not seem much help for the DIY. Before the drive, park about 25' from the garage, eyeball that the lamps are hitting straight forward and about level or a bit lower than the car. Then go for a drive and fine tune.
