Ranger Stock C6Z06 on Drag Radials 0-135 in 11 Seconds, in mp3
One of the good things about instrumenting the car at the drag strip is what can be learned from studying the data.
Here, in .wav format, is a sound file of my stock 2006 Z06 being launched and run through the gears to 135 before lifting. Run was made at MIR on November 4th, the 10.85 pass.
Play Ranger.LS7.Rhapsody.wav
Analysis of the sound file permits precise timing of the shifts and elapsed time from start of the launch. On this pass at MIR, the car accelerated from
0 to 60 (the 1-2 shift) in 3.09 seconds.
0 to 120 (the 3-4 shift) in 8.78 seconds.
Keep in mind that the car was on drag radials on a prepared surface
So crank up the volume and enjoy the LS7 Rhapsody, a Z06 at full song.
Edit: Sorry for the delay. Putstuff (still in beta) doesn't work. Never would have imagined that finding a site to host an audio file for download would be such a pain. It's up on Putfile, now. Just play no download.

Do you think that < 3.0 is achievable??

With that in mind, I doubt there is much more for me to drop in the 60' or 60'-330'. I did leave some hundredths (estimated 6) on the table by unintentionally short shifting the 2-3 at 6700 vice 7000. But then again the 1-2 and 3-4 shift point were very good. It's hard to get every perfect on a single pass.

If you really want to have some fun with this, realize that the 3.1 0-60 estimate doesn't include the 12 inch roll-out that all the magazines use in their performance measurements. This is done to syncronize the magazine times with the way timing is done at the drag strip.
On a C6Z (with Ranger driving), the first 12 inches take about 0.33 of a second.
You do the math....

Nice voice over though.

Also, according to your math....
0-60 in 3.09
60-120 in about 5.5
and 120-129 took 2 full seconds and some change??....according to your timeslip.
