Default Phil Reese wins again - WCCC event #13 results!

Phil Reese, who won WCCC event #12 a couple of weeks ago, took the last race of the season in great form. Phil, in his black ’73 383, won the A & A Corvette Performance winner’s trophy with a 12.300 ET on a 12.30 dial over runner-up Dave Dowdell’s 13.162 ET on a 13.15 dial. Congratulations Phil!

We raced at our home track, Los Angeles County Raceway, and we could not have had a better racing day. The weather was in the 70’s with a slight breeze and traction was fine. We had no crashes and really no delays at all. We shared the track with Pontiac Drag Days, 12.5 brackets, test and tune, and the Early Riders. Thanks to Bernie Longjohn and the LACR crew for another well-run event.

Defending WCCC Champion Dave Dowdell, in his torch red 2003, won the Cormier Chevrolet sponsored Runner-Up trophy when semi-finalist Robert Piroumian red-lit. Dave won the WCCC sponsored first round closest to dial trophy as well, with a 13.326 on a 13.30 dial.

Robert Piroumian, in his black supercharged C5 Z06, went to the semi-finals on a .028 RT and a 11.304 ET on a 11.30 dial over this year’s eventual WCCC points champion Mike Villenueve. Robert also had low ET in eliminations with a 11.285 earlier.

Congratulations to our first round winners Mike Villenueve and Henry Mynatt, who also won the LACR/NAPA Auto Parts first round best reaction time trophy with a .030 RT.

Thanks to all our sponsors including NAPA Auto Parts/Los Angeles County Raceway, Cormier Chevrolet, Perez Web Design, Opitima Batteries, and Andy and Melissa Green of A&A Corvette Performance

Congrats to Phil again. What a great race the final was! For some reason everyone was running tight packages! Great final weekend.

Congrats Phil!

It was a close race at the stripe in the finals. I can't believe that the season is over.

Thanks to everyone that participated in the WCCC events during the 2006 season. I can hardly wait for the new season to start...
