Default Changes between 02, 03, 04 model yrs.

C5 Z06 that is.
Hey guys little help.
What did they change between the three years?
Looking to take advantage of expected lower pricing and purchase low mileage C5 Z06 in Jan and wondering the differance between the three model years.
Any common issues/problems with earlier year?
Any help would be appreciated.

You may get more responses posting your question on the C5 Z06 Fourm. Off the top of my head though, the '03 is distinguished by silver 50-year anniversary emblems and the availability of the '03 Commemorative Edition option (Lemans Blue paint w/silver stripes). Performance-wise, they're the same.

03 Was 50th anniversary model as mentioned above.04 was the commerative edition. Fuel system was changed at some point in 03. The filter is in the tank. FFS fuel system is what it was called. Shocks changed in 04 cars as well. Good luck in your search.

No problem Bob. I didn't want the guy asking for an 03 Comm. Ed. I live near you, but have not seen your car around so far. I have a silver C5Z. I will keep an eye out for you. Take care, Don

Actually the filter AND the pump are in the tank in the later '03 and all '04s, as well at the C6s. Prior to that the pump was external to the tank and easily changed. The FFS fuel system is a PITA to change the pump/filter assembly and costs about $1200 to do at a dealer (ask me how I know -- thank goodness for extended warranties).

That would be a great idea, except the FAQ has gotten so large as to be almost unusable. I know about the CTRL-F trick, but that only works for the current page, and only on a Windows computer.

Thanks for the responses.
Are there any mech issues with the 02 LS6 (1st yr production) that were discovered and changed in 03 or 04 (other than the fuel pump) or are the three years pretty much a clone of one another.

The reason I ask is that with my C6 there is quite a few changes between my former 2005 C6 and current 2006 C6 ie: rear end, no more dbs, paddle shift, software etc.

I think the Carbon Fiber hood on the 04' Z Is something like 10Lbs lighter than the stock If I'm not mistaken. Pretty much all the same from 02' & up, maybe minor little details and maybe some color changes, but I'm not sure. All are equally amazing~thats for sure!!
