Anybody need theirs stored for a while?

I will be starting my frame off soon! Any inputs appreciated!
Thanks, Mike

This worked really well for me. Only comment would be that you need to raise the bottom rail if your going to us a engine hoist to lift the body. It's really cheap to build.

Default Body dolly spec.

I agree. I used that drawing to make one that I used last week.
It fit and worked as stated.
Gave me some peace of mind.
We also added a support to the back of the car.

This should also work if you can not find one and don't want to build one.

I built my body dolly using these instructions a few weeks ago. After cutting all the wood, it only took a few hours to assemble it. My plan is to take my Coupe off the road this weekend and begin the body removal process.
Roy

ps: When I am done with it in the spring, my plan is to offer it to any forum member who could use it as long as they agree to pass it on to another member when they are finished. I'll even deliver it within a few hundred miles.

I made the same dolly for mine....works really good. Easy to move around. I have had the body off and on the frame and back on and off the body dolly about 10 times now. The body is now at the body shop and they have a regular body dolly that they are using so that they can flip the car over to paint the bottom.

Good luck....the wood dolly works good. I would make sure that you get casters that ALL swivel and decent size wheels. makes it real easy to move around.

I have the same wooden dolly. The only negative I have observed is that the section that supports the nose will flex on uneven surfaces because it is attached to the laterally running 2x4s. A little bracing will stop that.

I added in some additional bracing, glued and screwed everything together......

This one breaks down and stores in a corner when you're done.

those go for $695.00, but I have heard that you might be able to get them cheaper from Nu-Air

Thanks for all the info!

A fellow C2 owner built his to store the body ABOVE the rolling chassis! Saves room in the garage. Really clever. Now I get to build one!
