Default Valve Cover Mods for 1.6RR

I have the crane gold 1.6 self aligning rockers on my '89. I knew I was going to have to modify the valve covers to make them fit but sheesh, it seems like they are pretty far from fitting at the moment. Does anyone have a picture or a good description of what you had to modify and how far to cut into it? Also does anyone know if this set of proforms would fit without modification?

Heres a pic just for the hell of it...

Thanks in advance....

There is probably some drip tabs inside the covers. Get rid of them any way you can, wheather you cut or grind them. No idea if those other covers will fit straight on.

Nice choice on the rockers

The drip tabs I can see are a problem but I even have issues getting the bolt housings on the valve cover to fit in between the rockers. Is it okay to just cut them about halfway up? I've never heard of anyone else doing this before but it seems necessary in order to get them to fit. Supposedly I ordered the "narrow body" so I figured i wouldn't have issues with this.

Please try to find a picture of the inside of the cover you are going to use.

I have same narrow body rockers and I had to grind the stock covers a lot to make them fit.

Here is a pic of my old stock covers. Drip tabs cut and bolt towers narrowed. Crane Energizer rockers.
You may also need to squeeze(narrow) the baffle on each cover.

Sorry, didn't get that

I had to remove the drib tabs completely from the stock magnesium covers to make them fit with cranes. And I think also had to narrow the towers like Agent did.

I'm not really sure what you mean ??
I grinded both sides of the bolt towers. If you look at the pic, i also grinded the side of the wing where it meets the cylinder shape casting(beside the drip tabs). The Crane Energizer rockers i'm using are HUGE, your rockers may not need so much.
