We are now offering Radar Bracket and InvisCord bundles!
We are now offering the InvisiCord radar detector wiring solution. Check out our new bundles featuring our popular radar detector mounting brackets and the 20" Invisicord!
The Invisicord allows you to quickly connect into the wiring harness of your rear view mirror without splicing or cutting any wires! You simply push the connectors into the back of the wiring harness to tap in to the proper +12v/ground wires.
It is basically a 1 minute install!!!

Yes, but we do not offer one. Ours places the detector up in a less conspicuous location, just below the tint line on the windshield.

OK thanks. FYI I prefer an under mirror mounting because it is less intrusive to the passenger and places the unit a bit lower. The lower the detector, the less deflection angle to a LIDAR burst, and the better detection. I understand what you want to achieve with discreet, but once they nail you with LIDAR or anything else, your having a detector or not is a moot point. They're in the business of generating revenue, so they're writing that ticket no matter what.

If by LIDAR you mean laser, then the prevailing thoughts, that I have seen, indicate that once that alert goes off, you might as well just pull over and wait for the LEO. Radar, on the other hand, doesn't have near the angle concerns.
This mount is a very elegant simple solution which I would have bought if I needed one.
YMMV

A decent mounting bracket has been a continuing unresolved problem. Nice design on the bracket...the prototype looked good before, but I thought you planned to thin it a bit. With aluminum, thicker is better because of it's low fatigue strength.
Does your Escort mounting bracket also fit the Bel RX-65? It would be nice to see the 20" power cord installed to evaluate how much slack it leaves hanging around.

Not sure I understand your comment regarding thinning the bracket? The only change that is planned for the C6 bracket is to accommodate the OnStar box in front of the passengers visor. That version is not ready yet. Please elaborate.
I will see if I can get a pic with the cable in place.
Also, the RX-65 appearantly requires a smaller mounting tab. I can possibly modify the bracket for the RX-65, but need some dimensions since I do not have one to test with.
Thanks for post,
Rick

No, the bracket will hit the OnStar module located in front of the passenger visor. We will be releasing a OnStar compatible bracket soon.

rjward,
So does property in La Jolla! sorry couldn't resist after seeing your location. Trust me when I tell you I am not making a killing on these. They are milled and shaped in fairly small quantities so the economy of scale has not kicked in on manufacturing costs. I think if you saw one in person you would agree that often prevelant Vette Tax is onot in play here.
Also, keep in mind if you are not happy with the bracket we offer a full refund!
Thanks,
Rick

What is the black finish on the mount? Is that anodizing or powercoat?
For the RX65, you'll need a detector mounting tab no wider than about 1.000" (that will give you 0.020" total side-to-side clearance), and no thicker than 0.055" (snug, 0.000" clearance). The mounting tab receptacle on the detector has a full depth of 1.900" from the front of the detector (measured at the centerline). To clarify which is front and rear, the LED display is on the REAR of the detector.
The locking tang (normally locked, operated by a release button) is approximately 1.188" from the front of the detector (centerline), and is approximately 0.40" wide and 0.075" thick. The locking slots on the Bel mount are 0.420" wide and 0.087 deep.
To summarize: Wherever you want the front end of the mounted detector to be relative the windshield/visor bracket, your mounting tab can extend NO MORE than 1.9" rearward from that point before it will bottom out in the detector. The mounting tab slot for the locking tang should be at least 1.2" rearward from the front of the mounted detector. Allow 0.087" wide slot (1.287" to back of slot from front of detector)...if the mounting tab is the maximum 1.9" length, this will provide about 0.012" mounting tab clearance to bottom of the detector mount receptacle.
All measured dimensions were taken with digital calipers, so any dimensions to three places are accurate. When you check your Escort mount, you may find it is very close. Build one that fits, and I'll buy it.
Anyone need a Great Lakes mirror mount for an Escort? PM me...I got two...I'll fix'em up for you with trim tape from hell; you'll have to use a plasma cutter to get them off your mirror. May have minor cosmetic scratches.

JmpnJckFlsh,
Thanks for the info! I will contact you about the RX65 specs. I went back and reviewed the previous threads as well, I see where your reference to a thinner bracket originated. The discussion was regarding the actual mounting tab on our bracket that slides into the detector. We have them machined to ~.060 and as you measure thats slightly thicker than the RX65 will allow. The width should be ok, based on your measurements and the fact that Escort sells the same visor clip for both.
Thanks again!

Hi, your mount looks good. If I have OnStar and want to use the mount on the driver's side can you confirm which bracket I would order? I understand your reluctance to have them mount on the driver's side, but I already have my Great Lakes one there and don't have a problem with it blocking my vision.
Thanks,
Don
