Roll race with traction? Yes
0-60? No
Quarter mile? Maybe.
Rain? Hells no.

Anyone with a 997 in Maryland/DC/Virginia is welcome to bring it to Capitol Raceway in Crofton Sept 17 for All-Corvette Day. We will make an exception and have some 997 vs C6Z match races. Should be at least five C6Zs there. So real races in safe conditions with real (not keyboard) results. Gates open at 11:00. Racing at noon. Any 997 owners that are game, PM me.

That would be cool.Probably tough to find a drag racer with a 997

I still say you are splitting hairs between the 2 cars. Most likely would be a drivers race and not a car race.JMHO.

The last HPDE I attended, there was a TT Porsche. All I can say is the car/driver was very fast on the entire track.

The 997TT doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell against the C6Z06 as far as acceleration. Don't ask how I know though.

It really doesn't matter to me whether one will beat the other. They are both wonderful sports cars. We have all read the comparison articles and the threads on various forums about the attributes of the Z06 and 997TT and each car has its advantages and disadvantages. We love the 997TT but are equally excited about the Z06.

I am just grateful to own one, here's some photos of ours that we took delivery of in early July 2006:

Welcome! FYI we don't condone street racing here or allow discussion of it, passively or actively.

According to Car and Driver the Z06 will pull away from the 997TT after 120 MPH.

I believe that's why ranger chimed in with his "challenge"

With Ranger driving the 997 in any form doesn't stand a chance. You'll need a good driver to beat one to 100 from a dig but a roll the Z will likely walk easily.
