Default 20 Truths of Vette Ownership after One Month

I have had the DSOM for a month and this is what I have found out about Vette ownership:

1 - It makes me smile just thinking about it in the garage.
2 - I hate my daily driver company vehicle, Ford F-150, didn't before.
3 - When I get bummed about the roof I just go sit in the car, no more bummed.
4 - I park a long way out from the front door of the store, not only to protect it but to look at it while walking out to it.
5 - The power it has makes me cautious and recklass both.
6 - Really makes me nervous when the wife decides she wants to take it to work.
7 - It doesn't bother me when the wife and kids say I am obsessed with it.
8 - The car cover I hate because I can't see the car when I walk through the garage. But I still use it everyday.
9 - It is amazing how many errands I am willing to do just to drive it. Makes me mad when I have to take the truck, like to the hardware store.
10 - It makes a terrific grocery getter.
11 - It is NEVER clean enough.
12 - Every little ****-ant honda or pontiac must delight in blowing past me while I stay close to the speed limit.
13 - I spend way too much time in the left hand lane looking for other Vettes to wave to.
14 - I have banned all bikes and skateboards from the garage.
15 - I spend too much time on this forum. But it has been worth every minute.
16 - I love the GY SuperCar tires, I hate the GY SuperCar tires.
17 - It bothers me when I see another DSOM in my small town. I don't know why, it just does.
18 - I want to tell everyone I know that I have it, even strangers.
19 - I haven't told anybody at work that I bought it, don't want them to know I HAD that kind of money to spend on a car.
20 - I NEVER GET TO DRIVE IT ENOUGH!

ESPECIALLY #4. I really don't mind parking in the south forty, because looking at it upon returning to the car makes my day.

Started grinning just reading your post. It's interesting to me that my wife will not drive it. Every time I tell her to take it, she mutters something about how it would not be worth the problems if something should happen while it's in her possession. What on Earth is she talkng about?

What a great post. I remember when you first posted in here "Tire Guy" Looking for your first Vette.

Now you have the Vette fever and its not going away.

Plus, that was a smart move buying your Vette used from "Another Yellow" I sure he takes good care of his cars and you probably saved a lot of money.

You've come along way in three months.

The wife read this and said "make that triplets". I didn't realize that she is worried that something would happen to the car while in her care. I told her that I would forgive her.........eventually.

You know, I was thinking about #2, and have the opposite feeling about my daily driver.

Now with the Corvette, I still appreciate that my Tacoma 4x4 is a vehicle:
1. I can leave anywhere & not care
2. Don't stress about scratches & dings
3. I can beat on it off road, or up in the snowy Sierras when I go snowboarding.
4. cheap to maintain
5. can carry a ton of crap
6. camping!

But I do loooove my Corvette a lot more.

Mike, I'm glad you're enjoying your Corvette. I'm sure glad you bought it instead of my just leaving it with the dealer to sell to some "stranger".

What's the word on your new top? I still feel bad that the top problem happened to you.

The 2007 AO will be for sale next year if you know anyone who will be interested.

Vasta thanks for the kind words. Yes, I do take care of my Corvettes even if I trade often. First oil change is always 1,000 miles and then at 50%.
