Would a 3/8" spacer work to accomodate the brakes?

No, big brake systems require many inches of clearance beyond the OE calipers. Those wheels barely clear the stock calipers as it is now.

Try SSBC's 3 piston floating calipers that are a direct bolt-in for the 2 piston stock calipers. They do not "bulge out" like opposed piston calipers, so they don't intefere with the wheel spokes. They are percentage wise a bit heavier than the stock PBR's, but this makes them stiffer, which is important in brake caliper performance. If anyone needs to space their wheels out 3/8" or more, then the studs need to be replaced by longer ones. Studs should be relatively inexpensive to buy, put would take a bit of labor to install. Once you get your wheel spaced outward, then you have to make sure the tread is covered by the fenders.

will depend on the kit/caliper but probably need a spacer. You may be able to get a brake caliper template depending on the type.

You can stisk an 14" willwood with six piston calipers in there, you might need a spacer for the rim, though, but dont think so.
Most race cars yse those 18" bbs, and see what they are packin in there.
