Default Halltech foam filter dyno results

Well I finally had my car dynoed again today after I put in the foam filter from Halltech. I knew it was stronger and I was right. With absolutey no tuning changes at all it made 14.5hp more and 4 ft lbs more in 5 degree hotter weather. 105 degrees in the garage. Not too bad.

before

after

Looks like a nice gain. What was your 1st mod to go from the 448 to 468?

With the sop you get with that filter, you would think more torque increase than horsepower. All I can say is that it really works

What mods before? A/F ratio looks spot on. Did LG tune it before for you? I'm just wondering because I have had mine tuned but not dyno'd yet. And all you did was put in Jim's race filter (or street filter)?

At 7,000 RPM? Is that one of those filters you have to oil?

Let the engine cool down. That was just a hot run the first time I ran it when I got to the shop.

Take a look at my thread. I just didn't do any further tuning after putting it in. I already had it tuned. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1380761

LG tuned it. I have their headers, x pipe, high flow cats and 160 degree stat. On a cool day I would likely get near 500 I think.

Wow 20hp and 30+tq for a cool down on a NA motor!!! Didnt think it made that much difference. Is the filter a factory replacement, or does it require its own set up? Thanks!!

It fits in the factory airbox if that's what you are asking.

You won't notice a difference unless you take it up to 7,000 RPMs.

Ya, it seems like the power doesn't come on until the way upper rpms.

too hard to call without the before/after same day, same conditions...and then overlayed for perfect comparison. peaks are definitely higher.

either way, I bet it's a rocket! I'm going to probably go with that filter....maybe group purchase time?? hehe

I didn't find this to be true on mine. Seat of the pants is noticeable right from the get go.Talked to Jim Hall about the oiling. He said to do it at every oil change. Shouldn't be to much of a inconvience.

I dyno'd both stock and F-1 and saw results about 10rwhp gain(same day).
SOTP was very noticable

That sounds about right. Mine did 458rwhp with a Jeremy tune and stock filter. He wants to re-tune it as he now has updated software from when he did mine. We will also port intake manifold as he claims it's worth 10hp. So with this and foam filter in place it's possible that we will see 480 rwhp! This is with stock exhaust! I'am done there

jbp8653,

I have no headers only tune (which can be improved I'm told), F-1 filter, and CAI for 476rwhp. I am sure I will see 480 plus with better tune.

I believe that the Air-Charger CAI is a big help in SOTP feel, but how do you measure the increase? Lap times or drag times??? whom has the time and skill do this.
