Default What "improvements" have you done to your vette?

Just curious what sort of work everyone has done to improve their vette. Anywhere from engines to suspension to interior to comfort stuff.

Here's my '81:

Rebuilt engine with slightly higher compression and hyper pistons
Mild cam (Summit 1103)
Converted to non-computerized carb and ignition (Edelbrock 1904 + ProComp HEI, carb was tuned by lars, timed by the Corvette shop)
255-60-15 Radials all around
Longtube Headers (summit special)
Semi-custom sidepipes (used Patriot pipes as a start)
KYB Gas-a-justs in front
Vansteel Poly rebuild kit in front
Customized 4 wheel alignment (per VBP's recommendations)
Northern Factory Aluminum Radiator (hotrodsusa.com for $308 shipped)
MP3 cd player + pioneer front speakers + kenwood rear speakers

Of course this list is not complete without the future planned modifications!

VB&P front and rear composite springs
steeroids
2004R
17" or 18" rims & tires
427 or 454 motown engine
Re-upholstered interior
Little subwoofer
200mph speedometer
Paint job

I think after all of that I'm done... so about $20 grand?

What we need is a best improvement thread--otherwise most of us could go on forever.

Dunno, I consider all of my improvements to be huge compared to what it was like when I got it.

I could start at the nose of my car and work my way to the back, the list would bore you half to death. I have replaced most everything including the engine, de-bubba-ized a slew of stuff, and just tried to get everything to work right again. It has been a 2 year labor of love and frustration and it ain't done yet.

A lot more than they're worth.

New caliper brackets front and rear, remove front dust shield, cut rear dust shield, new soft lines front and rear, turn down the front hubs, machine the rear rotors, manual master with booster or smaller manual master.

But hey, at least they look cool.

Maintenance aside:
1978....cut front coils and lowered front end !"...set alignment for "aggressive street"...

1969....dumped the TRW composite/KYB's and installed a Guldstrand 7 leaf steel spring and Bilstein Sports..

Mine came improved

ZZ4
Rebuilt M21 with Hurst Shifter
Griffin aluminum radiator and dual Spals
March Serpentine System
VBP suspension bits/Bilstein shocks
L88 hood
17" AR Hopsters (which I exchanged for a brand new set of AR Hopsters and tires that I already had, so it looks the same )
Hooker side mounts with uncapped STS racing baffles (the prototypes installed by the guy at STS ) and now discontinued heat shields from STS
Completely rebuilt brake system
New gas tank
Hurst Line Lock
Rebuilt headlight system

Things I did...didn't really need anything (only cosmetic and safety):
Aluminum valve covers and air cleaner
Billet Specialties Hopster steering wheel
Big632 gas lid
Vetteworks chrome fire extinguisher and bracket

Future:

Keisler 5-speed
Try and fix the annoying little leaks
Paint (maybe)

I'm in the process of a complete suspension/steering/brake rebuild with ES red polyurethane bushings, VB&P 460 lb front springs (I may end up going to 550s, we'll see once it's on the road), a VB&P dual-mount rear spring, Jeep steering box, Northern aluminum radiator, Lincoln Mark VIII cooling fan, Delco CS144 alternator, Autometer Phantom gauges, the leather seats (driver's side fully adjustable) from my dead 1990 Eagle Talon, a new stereo system (built with parts that were in the Talon), pop-out rear window, power windows and door locks, upgraded A/C, and probably a few more things that are currently slipping my mind. Now if that stupid passenger-side shock mount would just pop free...

Baby moon hubcaps and a "Not Correctly Restored Stingray" sticker. Bunch of cabin insulation/ventilation. Aircraft landing lights. Ongoing bits and pieces and mods I don't even remember what or when.
And a few other little things, see profile.
