Thanks man. Very helpful.

Does anyone know how much Courtesy Delivery is? That varies per dealer Im assuming.

And so a base coupe wit GMID is right around 40900 with destination.. least you get about 300 off Z51 :]

It is the dealers choice to participate in these programs. I believe that some are participating on Coupes and Convertibles. Check with the Forum Vendors

Good info, thanks for posting. I'm confused on what GMID/Supplier is vs GMS. I thought GMS stood for GM Supplier?

Nope, GMS is employee pricing (and their families). GMID stands for GM in the Driveway and equals supplier pricing (but is available to anyone).

Thanks, now I got it. I received GMID/Supplier pricing on the new Vert I ordered and am very happy with the price. I work for a Company that qualifies for the supplier discount.

Default Another stupid pricing question

Okay, I know it has been like this since Millenium Yellow came out in 2000, but I'm a little slow. So here it goes.....

Why do the optional paints cost just as much on a convertible as a coupe? A coupe has quite a bit more paint on it than a convertible.

BTW, I realize that this is almost not even a serious question - so please don't take this as a stupid question. More of a stupid point I'm trying to make. And on a related note, ya'll do know that most of the optional Corvette colors are also available on other GM vehicles without an additional cost, right?

Doesn't the targa top come painted from whatever supplier makes it? So I would guess the cost of the top's paint is included in the top. That leaves only the small strip behind the targa to get painted.

Compare that to the vert's whole trunk without glass and the waterfall and I think it's actually the other way. I think the vert has more paint on it than the coupe.

Think about it, most of the roof on the coupe is glass...

Is it possible to get GMS if you're not an employee or have family that is an employee?

My wife can get tier one supplier from Ford because she works for a supplier but then who wnats a Ford?

So, what you are implying is that IF the targa top comes painted from the supplier (which I would be surprised, but lets go with that), then it doesn't cost the supplier any more to paint the top than any other color, but it does cost GM more

I do see your point about the trunk, though. So how about this - how come it's not any cheaper if you only get a transparent top? Okay, I realize my rant has little validity. I'm just becoming very discouraged by Corvette pricing structures. Chrome wheels are available on other GM cars for $500, for instance. I just hate being "nickle and dimed" and having my intelligence insulted.

Has anyone ever grouped a bunch of members up to get a special pricing deal, like GMS for 10 people for example? If so, sign me up!
