Default Torque Thrust "D" Wheels (with pic's)

After a 4 week wait I finally received my 4th wheel and got them mounted today. This is the American Racing No. 105-5661, 15"x6", 3 5/8" BS Torque Thrust "D" wheel. They fit perfectly with 1/8" clearance over the brake calipers and I added the Carlisle Spinners.

I think I'll sell my repro BO Aluminum wheels. They are in very good condition.

I spoke with a gentleman last week who is working with someone to reproduce the TT "D" wheel. He said the wheels should be on the market in October. Your's look great!

Roy,
Great set of wheels! You are driving a great looking car. Above is the American wheel I have. I notice you have Goodyear tires. How did you decide on those and what size are they?

To my eyes, TT D's are the wheels that really give our C2's the evocative, "back in the day" look. And the Carlisle spinners complete the deal!

Not that C2's need much help to look outrageously cool, but your wheels are icing on the cake!!

Dennis:
They are Goodyear Eagle GA's and the size is 215/70 HR15. I chose these 1st because I like Goodyear tires and 2nd because I wanted H-Rated Tires (they are rated to 130 mph). This was the only Goodyear H-Rated tire in this size. I have about 1,000 miles on them.

Man those look great. I wanted those for mine, but the tire dealer told me that they did't make them anymore. So I went with the TTII's instead. I think it would have looked better with the D's, and maybe easier to keep clean.

Nice job, triple thumbs

Your TT2s look good also. The wheels on my car were made somewhere around 68-70. I think American Racing quit making this D spoke style in the 70s.
