Sign up for the Indy Speedway track day now!
Please do nopt send any more checks. We did not get the number of cars we needed to so I'm going to call it quits for this event and shred the checks that I did receive.
Sign up for the Indy Speedway track day now!
We are accepting checks to try to confirm our track day with the Indianapolis Speedway. The date we are going for is Oct. 14th RAIN OR SHINE. The cost to rent the track is about $1500 so we are trying to get 50 cars to keep the cost to only $30.
If you want to take part, you must send your check for $30 to me as soon as possible. If we get enough people, I will firm it up with the Speedway otherwise, if we can’t get the support, I will destroy your check. If we confirm with the speedway, I will cash your check and there can be no refund.
As of 9/7 I have received payment for 31 cars.
I will update this count each day.

Rich, since the linked post is somewhat long, can you provide a summary list of details here in this thread ?
*Time we'd need to be there
*How long could we stay (can we tour the museum too).
*$30 per person - or per car ?
*can driver/passenger switch places and both get laps ?
*How many laps.... and anything else pertinent
I know this info is in the original threads, but it's scattered about.
thanks for getting this set up. Once I know we can make it.. hopefully more of the Ohio Gang will sign up.

- I have no clue on this one
*How long could we stay (can we tour the museum too).
- I believe we could stay until the museum closes (5:00?). Yes, you should be able to tour the museum
*$30 per person - or per car ?
- $30 per car
*can driver/passenger switch places and both get laps ?
- From previous experience of doing this event, I would say no. See next question!
*How many laps.... and anything else pertinent
- I did this back in 2000 with a Camaro club. We were allowed only one lap.
Now expanding on the "How many laps?" question. When I was there in 2000 for the lap around the track. They also had the Richard Petty driving experience (RPDE) there at the same time. They were REALLY rushing us to get our lap done and over with due to the race cars getting on the track for the RPDE. So, they might let us do more this time, if there's not another event scheduled for this date.
If any of the above information is not correct for our event, I'm sure Rich will chime in and give more details.

Rich & Brian; thanks much for the info. I realize it's too early yet to nail down the specifics. But what you posted was a good start
Check on its way today - for one car .
BTW, if we only bring one of our Corvettes (most likely the case), I'd pay an extra $30 if Yvonne could drive around the track too.
