Default New Calipers and Rotors from Hardbar/PFC

Here are a few pics of my new calipers, the new PFC 33 on the revised Hardbar rotors. We will be at NHIS tomorrow final testing them. Check out the pics of the pads next to some stock C6Z pads that are about 60% left! Oh yes, they fit within the stock C6Z wheels with a 1/8 spacer and are 100% made in the USA!
The rotors are $750 a (front) set, the calipers with C6/C6Z mounting hardware $3300, and pads in your choice of PFC compounds are $310 an axle. The SS lines are from DRM and are they same lines that are for the the stock calipers. There is no better system than this at any reasonable price (i.e. carbon/carbon or ceramic at 3x or more this price). This system is 13 pounds less unspung weight (PER CORNER!)than stock with absolutely friggin' amazing stopping power. It will pay for itself with the difference in pads value if nothing else!
We are now taking orders!
PS, I'll be at NHIS tomorrow if anyone wants to see this personally!

Very nice looking hardware Gary. If a guy wants to do these pieces in stages, is that posiible? i.e., can I get only the rotors initially, for use with stock calipers? You mentioned the price for a set of front rotors - I assume you have rears as well? Are they the same price? Thanks.

I'm waiting for my CCW Corsair wheels like the ones you show and was wondering if you need the spacers to run them? Thanks!

Yes! Start with the SS lines from Doug Rippie, then get our rotors, then you can get the calipers. A rear system will be forthcoming soon..

These pads are 21mm thick and are $310 an axle. That is alot of pad for the money.

With these CCW's you have a ton of clearance. With the stock wheels they just barely clear so an 1/8 spacer would be adequate.

Awesome, they look very stiff, who makes them, are the pistons proportional and how many, is the pad a common make?

The calipers are the new 4 piston PFC Grand-Am calipers, and have a variety of piston sizes. These have 41 and 44 mm pistons. The multi-piece pistons are aluminum in the caliper body for equal thermal expansion then have stainless steel inserts that contact the pad for superior heat isolation to the fluid. This caliper stiffness to mass ratio is unprecedented for a 2 piece caliper with 6 cross bolts and the pinned bridge that allows very rapid/easy pad changes. The pads come in 4 PFC pad compounds 97, 01, 03, 05. I decided to solve this problem once and for all because I got tired of half assed semi-solutions.

Gary
Looks Good
I presume that one still needs to run cooling with these brakes?

That is something that "more is better" applies. The C6Z ducts look just like the DRM C5 ducts though. Spindle ducts certainly would help.

Here are some pics of the rotors after thrashing them for a day at NHIS with PFC 97 compound pads.

Gary, thanks for the ride at NHIS, I can attest that those brakes work GREAT!

Now I can't wait to get my new car after riding in yours.

John, and that was the first session ever with the new setup! I should have taken you for a ride later after they were bedded in and I gained some experience with them. I was going into T9 deeper that I ever have with any street car. I would floor it from the top of 7 deep into 9and kept thinking "oh crap, this is going to be ugly", but it felt like someone threw out a boat anchor (glad I had the Hardbar and Rampac harness installed). Turn 6 is my favorite turn there, and the car was dialed in very well there. At the end of the day I was having a ball with the GT3 Cup Porsche and a Red C5Z. I was planning to do only a couple of laps for my buddies that were helping me, but I got into a zone coming out of 12 when I saw the GT3 at the start/finish line, I just had to catch him and show him what a real car is! I heard a warning bell go off in the car and it was the low fuel warning. That was interesting itself because it ran fine at the low gas condition. Most cars I have driver there start to bog when they are that low on gas.
You must be really be chafing at the bit to get yours now...

Yes, see the post above. They are available in red, black, gold, blue, green, natural, and (god forbid) purple.

Well, if you want it, I'll do it for the minumum anodizing charge (assuming I can find a anodizing shop that can do pink for you)
