The Grond Chronicles : Reincarnation Part 3 [Dialup; Everlasting Tedium]
Part 1 of The Grond Chronicles : The Reincarnation, dealt with stripping the body panels and removing the entire drivetrain and engine. Details are here
Part 2 documented the complete engine teardown and looked like a scene out of Chernobyl. Details are here
Part 3, that you are reading now, will cover the interior demolition.
Parts 4, 5, 6 etc. I will reveal as time goes on. This project will stretch for several months, therefore please pull up a chair, open a cold one and get comfy.
So without further ado, here are the pics.
EG
Let's start with a point of reference; the bodywork is almost completely removed. The doors will be removed very soon....
Looks like your typical C5 Corvette Interior....
I have something truly unique in mind for this bad boy...
Amp rack is out. It will need to be modified before it can be refitted... and I just completed it too.....
OK. Onto the automatic shifter
Hurm...
Begone foul stock shifter!!!!
Get thee behind me !!

It's OFFICIAL : Grond's Number 7 Piston is being auctioned off!! I have permission from the Corvette Forum Administrators to auction off one of my melted pistons on the Forum.
All proceeds will go to St. Judes Childrens Hospital. Please help the sick kids if you can. Thanks.

Alright, let's get this carpet and stuff out of the way
This is your emergency brake mechanism. On some C5s, this is frozen and needs simple servicing. Mine works fine.
Almost there with the initial demolition...

You know, that stock automatic shifter mechanism has an awful lot of plastic pieces. I'm surprised they hold up as well as they do given how hot the transmission tunnel area gets from the drivetrain and exhaust.
