The Grond Chronicles : Shattered Hammer, soon to be Reforged !!!
As you all know by now, I completely annihilated my engine on the way up to Cruise In. So "The Hammer of the Underworld" has been shattered; the "Olde Grond" is now dead.
My stock LS1 lasted until the injudicious use of my right foot hit 12 pounds of boost at the top of 3rd gear, on the stock bottom end, and toasted a piston.
Nothing else appears to be damaged - the beautiful ECS Paxton supercharger is intact (love that blower) and my rather expensive drivetrain is solid.
So Olde Grond is sleeping safe and sound in Orlando, for now. I will get it towed home when I get back from Cruise In.
However, the rebirth of Grond is now definite.
Met CajunDude (Jason) here at Cruise In, and he has planted the seed of what I need to do with my next engine. Hehehehe. Completely unbeknownst to him Likewise, ALLTHROTTLE&NOBOTTLE (Steve) unknowingly told me what I need to do next to fix a minor (read: major) traction problem I was having.
Connecticut (CF Supporting Tuner) is also here, and he will be coming down to Florida for the next engine build. Stangkiller (Chris) and I have already planned what we are going to do with Grond next - and it is going to be extreme, to say the least.
Stay tuned to a Forum near you for the next Grond Chronicles.

Post Scriptum : I am so glad that I came to Cruise In - the welcome was overwhelming - thanks everyone!!
Cruise In is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stephen,
Good Lord, the stock bottom end couldn't hold up to 12psi???
Waiting with baited breath for your next engine build!
PS: did you take a second "Grond Mod" mortgage yet???
Have fun at the cruise in!!!

I thought all bottom ends were safe at 12 psi
Good luck with your rebuild and then you will be able to turn up the wick safely to 14+ as that is where I decided to stop at the moment, knowing that there is more if needed, you think you had traction issues now wait until you go with the LS2 or whatever forged setup you go with and see the difference, it is incredible, but well worth it
Long live the Grond Chronicles on the Forum we all await your next mod
