Default Found build sheet today

Getting the nose of my vert repainted today, and while the nose was off, I took a look inside the left front bumper tube

WooHoo!!!! Build Sheet!!!!!

Haha, what really gave me a good laugh, was that just about each original option I had ordered back in '01 has now been "upgraded"

Very nice piece of documentation to have anyway - especially for the Corvette enthusiast.

There was a couple forum members awhile back that if provided the vin# had acess to some data base and would run a copy of your build sheet. I kind of wished I had jumped on the band wagon now but at that time I saw these guys were getting flooded with member request for there build sheets and didn't want to be a PITA.

You can get a build sheet for $40 here. You can also get a window sticker if you are so inclined.

What you need to do is 'edit' the build sheet to include all the new mods and replace it in its spot. Think of the reactionsomeone will have 50 years from now when they find it.

You're right Dan! I could just imagine the Barrett Jackson auction a hundred years from now with the found 758rwhp "mystery" vette!

These are two different things. Any GM dealer can inquire GM's Vehicle Inquiry System (VIS) using the car's VIN to find it's history and build information. Several Forum members here also have access to GM's VIS as you mentioned. While the build information from GM's VIS contains much of the same information that is on the Build Sheet, they are are not one and the same. The Build Sheet is printed at the factory and accompanies the car down the assembly line as it is being built. Below is a pic of an actual C5 Build Sheet.

You can order reproduction copies of you car's actual factory Build Sheet from the National Corvette Museum: Order Forum

Hope this helps.

Guess mine is closer to stock than either of yours*. Maybe it will be worth more in 50 years.

Nice find. Kind of like a treasure map for the car.
